Its a done deal boys and girls, the comp 268 is finally in... YAY!!!!... sort of...

The install went good, found out I had a bunch of sticky sludge like crud on the intake side of the heads, we got it all cleaned out though and ran them through the parts cleaner.

We got everything buttoned up, loaded the tune and cranked her over only to die the first few times.... reset the truck to stock (unloading all previous saved tune information even the tcm) reloaded the tune and it fired right up and had no issues idling... in park.... I took it for a drive to head home and at every stop light, sign etc. the rpms would bounce around between 400rpms and about 1000rpms and then die. If I came to a stop light and put it in park though the rpms would even out around 750rpms. So I gotta see whats going on there, 99.99% possitive its the tune so hopefully I will get that worked out tomorrow cause I cant drive it like this to work in rush hour traffic (stop and go).

Now... for the moment you have all been waiting for...

Its probably a pulley, we knocked half a pound of dirt off of them when we took them off so thats my bet. I noticed it more when I was stopped (before it stall out on me).

sounds good.

that squealing could be just the belt. i know when i had a junk advanced auto belt on mine it would squeal. then i changed it and put a gatorback belt on, squealing gone.

Congrads on the install and yeah Sean can tweak out that jumpy coming back to stop. That is odd to find sludge in the heads... whats your normal oil change procedure? When my heads came off for my install they were still clean. I love the way the comp 268s sound in these trucks.

Been using a full synthetic for the last 4yrs or so now, every 3-4 thousand miles. I wonder if its coming from the oil on the CAI.
