Yesterday got time to put in the new Edge 2800 along with the 1 ton trans cooler and take a look at the trans while it was down. Ordered it from Matt awhile back and it was sitting in the garage till I could get the other odds and ends together but well worth the wait. Having the band clamps on he exhaust was helpfull since all of it got dropped along with the rear crossmember but was still a tight fit with the transfer case to clear. Only put 50 miles on it so far and tried a few diff launches. I will say now leaving of idle in 4hi it PLANTS you in the seat. Last night the temp was 80 with high humidity and the truck felt great doing the 3 launches we did. 2wd is now just for show if I want to mash it.

Wanted to take some during pics but we were elbow deep for 3 hrs and didnt wanna get my new phone groody so here is all I have which is just the before.

Just getting to the shop and letting it cool alill

3.92's since with 4.56's I would run out of gear sand drag racing. I already run out of gear in the sand if the track is crap and I have to coast across the line in 4lo. If I decide to stay off that track forever then 4.56's will be another add on.

Congrats. I found it was easier to remove transfer case at the tail of the trans with fwd drive shaft attached, that way I didn't have to dissassemble the torsion bars and that cross frame piece. The little fastener nuts around that where a ***** specially up top.

sweet! the converter made more of a difference in acceleration than the 4.56's did in my truck. It's an awesome mod and one of my favorites. really gotta watch the skinny pedal at stop lights though, makes it real easy to go sideways if you're not careful.

Thanks, because it has dumped exhaust I still get a lot of people who don't see duals and think its stock till they get closer or roll down there window. The lope and smell is a dead give away sadly unless its someone who has no idea what they are hearing. I tend to tell everyone it has a miss.

Ha, my heads are just trying to help cover my extra weight of the truck. I can say now my 4x4 is more useful launching. Us in the 1/8 would be a very good race. Me launching 4hi vs you on the short tires and DR's with 4.10 gears.

I thought I was doing pretty good with some 1.9 60' runs but, I just read somewhere on here that stock trucks were going 1.6 - 1.7 stock. So I have some catching up to do..... But what the hell it's all fun at the end of the night.

Those guys are full of it. 418bee just posted some new vids on na and his truck is cutting 1.5x 60' times on a 10.65 run. No way these stock trucks are cutting 1.6's.

Whew, that makes me feel better. Seems like the 4g guys are getting numbers we 3g folks have been working hard for over the years. might have to add them to my hunt list, :)
