Good morning all. I am new to this forum and I am looking for some help. I have a 2007 1500 with the HEMI and just recently I had an EGR trouble code coem in. I cant remember what the numbers were (0400 or something) and the truck has been skipping a little a low rpms. As soon as you lay on the gas pedal, the HEMI does what it should...go like HECK :) But when I am just putting through town it seems to hesitate a little. The code said something about EGR malfunction and possible selinoid, but I didn't want to just start replacing things that didn't need to be replaced. The truck only has 40,000 miles on it. And I just ran a bottle of injector cleaner through it a few weeks before the light came on. Not sure if that had anything to do with it? Any suggestions?

Welcome to the forum.

sounds like its time for an egr change. I replaced mine around 40k miles, its a $30 part give or take and about a 15min job in the garage. Replace it and clear the codes and see what it does. If it fixes the problem, great if not we can move on to something else.

Welcome bud, where out in VA are you? If you need a hand and are close by might be able to swing by to help.

I am in Yorktown VA. I have read some info that these EGR valves usually crap out around 40,000, so I guess my problem is common.

I checked the code using the "key method" and the code was P1404 which is EGR POS SENS Rationality. Is this a failure of the EGR valve or something else? I looked at the different part store websites and I don' see any sensor. Is that bulit into the valve? Thanks again for all the help.

Should be part of the egr. There is only one plug going to it and everything else is in the egr. Or at least that's how it is on my 05

I guess I will just start with the EGR valve and hopefully that clears up the issue. Thanks for all of the suggestions.
