When I'm at a stand still my truck starts to run hot between half and red unless I'm going highway speeds. I'm missing half of my fan shroud but I don't think that would be a big deal. I do have a 3" body lift so the radiator sits 3" higher from the motor. Would that be the problem or is there something I could do to get the heat out?

Fan shroud is definitely a big deal. Over heating at idle is a classic missing shroud symptom. I would start there before you go crazy.

You need to either replace the broken fan shroud, or replace the shroud, fan, and fan clutch with an electric fan kit.
