A local guy here in my town totaled his 06 SRT10 reg cab ram. From what I understand the engine is in immaculate condition and has only 39K miles on it, asking $7500 for it. Would this be worth investing in for an engine swap, and what exactly would be required?

Including the engine, would I be looking at more than $10,000 worth of work?

...shoot, I'd love to be packing that V10 lol

Yep, from what I understood... He claims all the components are untouched, but even at that I couldn't see myself spending that kinda money on it. I'd rather put a solid downpayment on another truck lol

So the guy wants 17k for a totaled 6 year old truck?
Sad thing is, he'll probably get it

For that price you could have a running Srt-10. Engine should go for around 3k, trans you can get new race ready for 2k, rear new is what around 1k, wiring and pcm tack on anther $500 or less for used. So unless he's getting a salvage title and selling the whole truck, $7k is about the most he should get out just the drivetrain components.

i agree 17k sounds outrageous for the engine and trans. The whole truck in the condition it is in is probably not worth that much
