I bought my 2007 Ram 1500 5.7 Hemi 4x4 used a couple months back. The truck has 124000 miles on it.I had no idea about the service history so I decided to change the plugs. First off, those rear most spark plugs provided me with opportunity to make up new and colorful words. Any way, the plugs that came out appeared to be the ORIGINAL plugs that this truck rolled off the line with nearly 10 years ago. The electrodes were nearly gone! Check out the picture of one of the plugs. I used my feeler gage and some of the gaps were over .075 to .085, thats how worn away the plugs were!
Now when I drive the truck there are no dead spots were it seemed to hesitate.

I just went through the same thing My '05 had about the same miles 124/125k and I bought it at 70,000. I was pretty sure the plugs had never been changed.

Mine were worse than yours.........

If it wasn't for the dual plugs, neither of our trucks would have been running.
