Daniel (Satan Goose), you have mentioned a couple of times something about installing a floor shifter. My question to everyone is what floor shifter can be used on our trucks. Anyone every seen a butterfly setup.
IMO, that would be way kool. Maybe grafting a charger shifter or a 09/10 floor shifter???? All inputs welcomed...

I believe he is going with the B&M Megashifter

the 4th gen shifter would be very tough to integrate into the older trucks.

other than cutting the ole through the floor board and re routing the shifter I dont think it be that bad to swap over to the 09/10 style. Been thinking of something like that myself for a while but haven't "really" looked at it. But I wouldn't think it be much harder than installing a B&M Megashifter

Funny you ask Red. I been looking into this the last week or so and have made some notes (in my pile of crap/kitchen Table). Anyhow there are some Durango or Dakota Guys that have done it with the Truck mega shifter like Ryan mentioned. The guy had a bracket fabed for it and put the blank cover on the column and relocated the Tow/O/D to work with the Truckshifter button. You could potentially do the same and get the column cover from an SC Ram model that comes with the 4.7 with manual gear box. So thats what I am lookin into. They also sell a cable you can use and just modify the end to attach to where your column cable goes thru and also the end clip onto your 45RFE. They come in varying lengths as well like 12 and 18". Do some surfing on Jegs and look on the Durango or Dakota sections (DF I think). Hope this helps but yeh a hell of a great Idea Greg! :grd::drool::Insane:

With the help of motorscooter as he has one to go in as well, we are going to use some of the install threads and see how it goes.
There is a member on RB that put in a floor shifter and console from a Nitro and it looks pretty darn good.
I am not sure if the Nitro or Ram 09-10 are a slapper style or can you still possibly mess up and go into N instead of D when manually shifting?

I am not going to use the base cover. This will allow me to keep the cup holders.

the 09+ rams do have a slapper shifter for manual shifting, but it would be tough to toss it in N when manually shifting

Great, folks are looking into this. I have a terrible time using the column shifter. In the past I have used floor shifters, but what I would really like to install are paddles mounted on the steering wheel.

I love a maunual, this is the first car Ive owned that didn't have one. Guess I just wondered why Dodge never put a manual tranny in a HEMI. I mean the 6.1 challenger has one, why not the ram? Would prolly fix the crappy trans problems that plague these trucks, and the 23-26% drivetrain loss!

^^Dodge did put a manual behind the hemi in the 2500. Manual trannies are getting harder to get in most vehicle. I hate to see that, I would love it if my truck had a manual trans.

I have seen threads on other forums where people tried to swap in a manual, but I cannot think of any that did it successfully (I may be wrong on that).

Its nice but I would have designed the center console a little different.

I don't care for that at all. It looks like a giant shoebox.

The only issue with doing this is the trans will still be computer controlled correct? It wont be like a traditional shifter the where it hits what gear you want when you want it, it would still have a delay between 1-2 shifts and up and then not allow a sever down shift right?
