A friend has a spare edge converter that he will sell me for a good deal. He says its flashed for 2500. Would this be a good fit for the mods with the truck?

It would def be better than the stock converter. Not sure where the power band for your cam kicks in. But if its a good price why not?

Would it also be possible to send it off to edgw to get cut and cleaned? Then you will have a practically new converter

get it sent in and cleaned out. don't want any of the crud that could have built up in his to be transferred to your system. for your cam it should work alright.

It will do well for a small cam.

There is no way to get all the insides of a converter cleaned out unless they cut it open. I would imagine that's not cheap, and you might end up better off buying a new one made to the perfect stall for your mods.

If its just a spare that's never been used, by all means do it. Even if it has been used, as long as his trans didnt grenade or have burnt fluid or excessive mileage there shouldnt be any problem with running it as is.
