So I'm thinking about getting a new to me 2007 with the hemi. I have a couple questions. Anything I should be aware of? Does it tow/haul good? Is it worth buying? Thanks

Bring a good automotive electrical system mechanic with you to check out the pcm, tcm, tipcm, these 3rd gens have terrible electrical system problems.

^ I don't know about that, maybe so, but I have an 03 that I have had zero issues with, the PCM is better in the 05 because you can tune the transmission on that one.

Saying they have terrible electrical problems is really pushing it. P.S. future reference its a TIPM not TIPCM. That being said, there are some that have TIPM failures which if you buy remanufactured they are 450 bucks and easy install anyone can do..... now, THAT being said lol. between my 04 which i owned for about 3 years and my 07 that i bought new i have had next to zero issues. my 04 i had literally not one problem with... my 07 ive had in 10 years of owning it now, a coil pack go out at only 50k miles, water pump go bad along with 2 water pump gaskets and a battery lol. thats it.

something you might wanna read about though is the hemi tick if your new to these engines. just good to be in the know with that issue because that is EASILY the biggest issue with these trucks. If it ticks on cold start then goes away after warm up its broken manifold bolts (not a huge deal if your mechanically inclined, but could be spendy if done by a shop,) if it doesnt go away..... thats the tick
broken manifold bolts are famous, but thats any engine with alum. heads really.
Other then that i would just do a careful inspection as with buying any used vehicle.
Oil is a big thing with these hemis, if its low or nasty black id be worried

also to answer your towing question, it really depends on gearing but if it has 3.92's like mine its rated to tow 7500 pounds, i think 1250 payload?? I personally would say that is really pushing it. i cant imagine pulling 6500 pounds up a hill let alone 7500 in this, but to me that is not "light duty." If your wanting a towing truck i would really save up for a CTD.

I agree with there not being that much of electrical problems. Haven’t come across anything like that in my 03. And a definite second on checking the manifold bolts for leaking. You should be able to hear a decent tick if one of them are broken.
As far as towing/hauling the hemi does everything you would expect a 1500 to handle. I’ve hauled stuff riding on the bumpstops and the engine did fine. I don’t recommend it but I overloaded it kinda accidentally. Hauled a yard of dirt (~2000lbs), another time 1500lbs of scrap wire in the bed. 3.92’s definitely help but my overall mileage sucks. Only 10-12 mpg on average

3rd gens are solid trucks. I’ve owned a couple. I’d say the most likely problem you’d have is the trans. Both of mine went around 175k. Hard miles though. Like anything, take care of it, and it will take care of you.

I put a ton of wood pellets in the back of mine one time and the bumpstops weren’t too happy about it but the truck did fine otherwise. I also pulled a load around 13k lbs once. Still did fine but wasn’t the fastest thing on the road lol
