I'm looking at buying a 2006 Ram 1500 Quad Cab. It runs great, with nothing unusual noted with the engine & transmission while driving (5.7 Hemi and automatic transmission). Everything seemed very smooth. It rides great, with no squeaks or rattles noted during the test drive. It has new tires and brakes all around, and new wheel hubs in the front. Also, new spark plugs recently installed.

Overall, I really like the truck, but the one thing that gives me pause is that it has almost 182,000 miles on it. Apparently this is mainly highway driving.

My question is about how much of a concern this mileage should be with a truck that otherwise seems to be well maintained and in very good condition.

Thanks.

Welcome. That is a lot of miles but if the truck has been taken care of then then I wouldn't worry about it but you never know unless you know the seller. Hopefully it is reasonably priced.

Ball joints and the axle and drive shaft universal joints will need replacing soon if they haven't been done already. My engine also started burning oil aroung 150K miles. Welcome to RF.
