Got a used engine out of an 06 with 60,000 miles. Old engine was out at 2 am this morning. Have most of the electronics that needed switched over taken care of. Intend to be running again by midnight.

It was a broken valve spring, but I caused the valve to contact the piston and put a hole in the piston. New engine was only $1800. Cheaper and easier than tearing into the old one. Which will probably still happen over the next few months.

Sorry about the crappy cell phone pics. Have lots of them on my camera. When it's all done, I will get them up here.

It backed out of the garage under it own power at 4am. Checked for leaks, test drove it, let it warm up etc... All is well. She is back home in the garage.... After a few victory beers.

Good work man, that doesn't seem like an easy job on any account.

Congrads on the change over. When you picked up the 06 motor was it complete? You could update your coil packs to the 06 ones to have the dual spark instead of the wasted spark. When you get time take a pic of the head for how bad the damage is to those. Might still be good cores.

It is an amazing feeling to know me and 2 friends did it all ourselves. It took 36 hours from hood off to back out of the shop under its own power. We did it in a very organized manner. Bagging and labeling all bolts. Laying everything out in the order we took it off, labeling every wire or hose we unhooked as we did it. I have to thank my friend for this organization. But it made the whole process go so incredibly smoothly. Slow is smooth, smooth is fast, was proven to me this weekend.

Nope. 2wd. It all went really smoothly. I'm pretty proud. The 36 hours is total beginning to end. Not just work hours. We went home and slept and had to go to a cub scout event for the kids during that time too. I currently have a tremendous sense of accomplishment.
