Is it necessary to reset the pcm after installing an intake?

Nope! haha Cause it won't affect anything.. the intake that is
I'm surprised you've gone this far down the mod road without letting your engine breath better. The intake is just a part of the puzzle. I already have longtubes, full exhaust, tune, doing a pcm swap and a cam install. It might not be a huge improvement by itself, but like everyone says, put them all together and it's better

Have you noticed its mostly the diesel mafia with the negative opinions about gas engine mods?! Just say'n
Has anyone else noticed a huge changed in the way the engine sounds after installing their intake. I have a k&n and I love the way my truck sounds after installing it.
If its a K&N that's just throttle noise.Has anyone else noticed a huge changed in the way the engine sounds after installing their intake. I have a k&n and I love the way my truck sounds after installing it.
the s&b isn't a noise making intake anyway since it has the cover
The S&B on my truck is loud as hell.

Do you also get the gasping/wheezing sound at idle? That's another K&N sound effect and no, no one would ever mistake that for a blower.
really? Other people have said its quiet....guess its personal perception
