Is it necessary to reset the pcm after installing an intake?

Nope! haha Cause it won't affect anything.. the intake that is :)

The intake is just a part of the puzzle. I already have longtubes, full exhaust, tune, doing a pcm swap and a cam install. It might not be a huge improvement by itself, but like everyone says, put them all together and it's better

I'm surprised you've gone this far down the mod road without letting your engine breath better.

Have you noticed its mostly the diesel mafia with the negative opinions about gas engine mods?! Just say'n

I've read all the crap on intakes not doing anything by themselves, so I just decided to make it one of the later mods. I got the S&B intake, it seems like that's the better one.

Yeah I notice the diesel guys. I'd love to have a diesel, but I just don't need that big of truck, plus all the more expenses that come with it. I'm happy with my Hemi, plus I like working on my engine, which is why I want to do the cam swap

Has anyone else noticed a huge changed in the way the engine sounds after installing their intake. I have a k&n and I love the way my truck sounds after installing it.

I haven't yet, haven't done a full throttle run yet. My exhaust my over power the intake though haha

the s&b isn't a noise making intake anyway since it has the cover

That's because you removed the silencer (the hat) when you installed it lol. It's interesting with intake manifold design, my truck intake roar is loud as hell when I mash it. Same engine in my Charger with a CAI and it isn't nearly as loud as the truck is.

If its a K&N that's just throttle noise.

Do you also get the gasping/wheezing sound at idle? That's another K&N sound effect and no, no one would ever mistake that for a blower.

Gasping/wheezing at idle no. But when i tap the throttle it had a faint whistle noise.

I can't hear mine at wot due to exhaust setup but normal driving when given a little gas you can hear it sucking in the air. Sure performance wise it isn't much better than the air raid I had.... but it does look bad ass imo lol

really? Other people have said its quiet....guess its personal perception

Most people have exhaust work done too which makes it harder to hear the intake. My truck is fully stock exhaust wise so I can hear the intake without any exhaust covering it up, and it is definitely loud. I think the only other intake I've ever had that was louder was the RotoFab on my G8 with the 6.0L.
