Yes, they are all plastic. The only way to get an aluminum manifold is to do the 6.1L manifold conversion.

And reason to want this?

Running boost, wanting a better looking engine bay, or just because. I did it on my '07 for the appearance factor initially but when I started running a 150-175 shot and doing high RPM runs it was a benefit, downside is it heatsoaks where the composite manifolds don't. Now it's on my '09 pushing 15psi.

Kurtis isn't it a PITA to do that swap though? Don't you have to drill new holes and shave some stuff down?

Just seeing if I remember correctly...

It's a fairly straightforward swap actually and not that difficult if you have the time and money for it, especially if you have Eagle heads. You need the accessory bracket to move the A/C and alternator to clear the manifold, a set of adapter plates if you have pre-eagle heads, machine/grind a section of the timing cover that would otherwise hit the throat of the manifold, cut a mount on the A/C compressor, take apart the passengerside wire harness and move the MAP sensor to the rear (Wires are long enough to do this), stretch or add an extension to the throttle body harness, buy a longer belt and reroute it accordingly, and finally pick up a LMI Hammer intake for performance and awesome looks. Oh, to do this you MUST do an e-fan swap.

I only took the intake, manifold, and heads off that truck. I wasn't going to bother with the relocation kit, timing cover, or top end stuff. I feel sorry for anyone that picked up that block at the junk yard, it'll never run right with the cam in it, lol.
