I just picked up a 2002 dodge ram 1500 2wd with the 4.7 that is almost mint but didnt run. The guy said he had no clue why. I ran the codes and it came up crank sensor. Pulled the old one and it was snapped off and the magnet was missing. Put in the new sensor and it tried to start for the first time then just turned over with no fire again. I decided to check the sensor again so i pulled it out and the side was smashed and magnet was broke off. Any ideas why? Im stumped!!

double check to make sure that you got the correct crank sensor for your engine.
the magnet should only be
.001away from the (sprocket?).

Sounds like the tone wheel is loose or broken.
