Anybody ever converted their older model truck with the coil on plug and spark plug wire to the ones that sit on both spark plugs?

You need the '06-'08 valve covers and ignition coils, then you can either cut and wire in the new coil plugs to your existing harness or pick up an adapter set.

So it's just a simple swap out? No need for a re-tune or re-flash?

No re-tune needed. This pic is my 05. There are plug and play adapter available. No cutting into the factory harness. Excuse the Orange bolts. Lol the valve covers were that color when I got them.

So the bolts on the valve cover are on the opposite location of the ones that are on there now. The question is, does it have to be ram valve covers/coil packs or will the car version work?

Car ones will work just fine, just make sure it's the covers with 2 holes for each coil and they are the pre-eagle covers, not the '09+ ones.
