OK got word today my big severence cheque (check) will be cut / mailed to my home tommorrow. Big discussion with the wife and its a done deal, I booked my appt and the parts for the job have been ordered.

4 Jan 2011, The Gear Center will install an Auburn LSD in the rear and 4:56 Gears front and Back. At the same time for good measure I will give them a new L/H axle shaft for the C205 (R/H I changed last year) 4 snap clips and 2 Cv Pot O rings.

Meanwhile I will repaint my Factory Diff Cover with plasticote Engine Enamel and remove the chrome mr.G Cover that is now pitted with Rust. I also will give them a new rubber plug and a pack of Mopar Chrome diff bolts with built in offset grooved heads.

The cost of this job is a bit more than what you would pay in the US, but these guys are pros and have about 4 shops in this province (state) and full guaranteed warranty with a simple break-in proceedure unlike the 500 mile granny method.

The parts were surprisingly the same and in some case cheaper than say Moes, except for the Auburn which is 625 CAD.

This is most exiting Mod I have ever done and the most expensive but i feel it is something that even with my abilities is best left to the Pros with the tools. the Guy who will work on my truck has 18 years doing diffs and does all the Dodge work. Its Booked in for 3 days to give lots of time to do the job which could run 12-15 hrs, however I will only be charged actual time.

I will report back on this thread when I get her back on Thurs PM of the 6th Jan 2011.

Following this procedure I will get an alignement ASAP afterwards and add 2 more RS5000 shocks to the front (2 new ones already in the rear) and then finalize with a rear Hellwig Sway Bar some time in Feb / March.

Apologize for the long post! :)

Sweet! I took mine in to a defunct Dodge dealer and sat there while the guy did mine. He explained a few things to me as he used the proper measuring tools. The guy is a pro. Later I had him do my TC install. IMO it is worth the money spent to have the major stuff done right the first time with no playing around. He did my 2wd in about 3-1/2 hours. 4wd is a whole different ball game.

Got them at the dealer (Mopar Part). I'll dig up the Part Number and maybe a pic for ya Tommorrow but they are common. I think there like $20 bucks for the 12 of them and the chrome holds up excellently.

After the Gears i think I'll have to cool it!...LOL.. as the wife wants a new Couch, Bed, Bathroom in the Basement....etc....etc. But really after the swaybar, shocks, alignement I am gonna concentrate on the paint and body which I hope will include the SRT-10 hood and some new black step-tubes.

See "Next Mod Ordered Interior Project" Greg, small update there. Crappy Title I know but it started out as a Try and guess what it is but that didn't last long with you Guys.

Wonder if you can edit a Title?

Pic of the Factory Cover sandblasted & primed / painted with Pasticote Engine Enamel (Dodge). The Mr. Gasket Chrome one is finally rusted and will be ditched. Sure wish I could afford a fancy aluminum one with drain Plug (Down The Line). Just sat the bolts and new rubber plug on there to give an Idea. I had the Mopar card with the Number for those friggin bolts but today Misplaced. I have since re-sanded the cover with 320 lightly and then clean and final coat of Orange followed by 2 coats of Clear (Plasticote). i do not have to make a Gasket as the shop uses neither RTV or Gasket but rather an epoxy Based coating thats cures (50 bucks a tube w/easy removal and Zero chance of leaks).

I'll post up more pics and explain how the breakin procedure / Guarantee / warranty will work.

Looks great, no one would see it on my truck lol
Suggestion, take a bold felt pen and write 4:56 across it in a clear but causal way and then clear coat it again.
