Truck keeps dying. Started ok Thursday. Backing out engine light came on and truck died. Started back up. Went 1 mile to gas station. Killed engine put half a tank in and tried to start. Engine cranked but would not turn over. Bought new battery installed after one hour and truck started. Went home and next morning truck started then died on the freeway at 70 mph. Had power but no gauges registering and would not fire up. Towed it home. Next morning truck started up went to mechanic and had the fuel pump, filter and relay replaced. Got it home and shut it down. Tried restart and same thing occurred. Waited an hour or two and the truck starts. The ECM is a new rebuilt had put in 4 months ago. I don't use the alarm. Tried using it to see if that was shutting the truck down but same thing occurs. Any ideas?

Why was the fuel pump replaced? Was it losing pressure or was it just a shotgun approach to hitting the problem?

Is the cel still on? If so what does it suggest?

You said it cranked but didn't turn over, those two statements oppose each other. If it was cranking the whole time, it didn't need a battery.

Did you mean it cranked but didn't fire? If so, during the no fire situation do you have spark? If you don't have spark do you have rpm signal on a scan tool?

That's the short list on where I would start
