Looking for an Upgraded Trans Cooler

I am trying to find a new and larger trans cooler for my truck since I am going to be installing a converter over the winter. I have two questions. First, do you think the 24 row cooler is overkill? Second, anyone know where a good place is to get the 24 row cooler part #52029089AB? Thanks for the help guys.

I forgot to add, if you do think the 24 row is overkill what would you recommend? 12 row or aftermarket?

What about the 2500 trans cooler and a PML pan? Was that part # for the 2500/trailer tow package cooler?

truckin has the 26 row cooler from a 2500... he got it at the dealer i think

That part number is for the 26 row cooler, not sure what truck it is off of.

Did some checking and it is the 2500 trans cooler.

I want to upgrade my cooler to the big 26 row one too. Our 09 has the 26 row one and its trans never gets over 150 degrees. Mine gets up to 185 in heavy traffic so I want the big one.

Not sure what that one is. I see it on there for 163 but it isnt the same part number. It might be the 12 row cooler.

I have a 23 row (guess it was an option in 03). Even with tqverter mine never gets above 150. Stock pan

Not sure. I don't think the ones on the 4th gen rams will will fit our trucks. When I had the grill off our 09 i could see the cooler and it looks like it would be too wide.

From what I have read, some 03 1500's got lucky and came with that huge converter instead of the puny one that is on my truck.

I would hate to see how hot the trans would get if I had to tow a really heavy trailer. Thats why i want the big one.

You got the 8 row too? I am not even going to risk putting a converter in until I have a good cooler on the truck.

Yep, its either the 8 or 12 row one.

Here's what gets me. My truck came with the tow package and they put that little cooler on it. You would think that the tow package would come with a larger cooler than that.
