Hi guys i posted on here before and got lots of good advice. Now i need some more input. I am pretty much done with the motor. I turned my 5.7 into a 392 stroker. I used a forged molnar crank with Carillo Rods and Pistons. The compression should be around 10.68:1. I put a new Howards Cam (Duration 264/268 Lift .52/.520). New Hylift "bleeder" lifters. As well as all the new bearings, oil pump and timing components. I had just a little port work done on my heads. New Valve springs and seals. I have JBA sorty headers and a diablosport i-1000 tuner. The build will be done on monday. I have a couple questions about the rest of the exhaust and the tune. I am going to run my original y-pipe and cats. I was wondering what muffler would give me a little "growl" while not being really annoying loud. Also do i need to have a tune made for that motor/cam combo for it to run or can it run on the 91 octane tune? Any other concerns you guys could think of before i bolt it in next week? Will post pics soon

Yeah, you're going to need a custom tune. I would check out Greene Racing, I hear Jay is pretty good. When I asked the guy who did my tune about a 180° thermostat he wasn't sold on the idea, mine is still what came from the factory.

Did you do a torque converter?

I'm not familiar with that cam but the idea behind going with a higher stall torque converter is to get more of the newly available HP and torque to your rear wheels.

If i leave the stock y-pipe after the headers and want a good sound what muffler should i go with? Is it single 3" in and duel 2.5" out. Was thinking a flowmaster 40 series? Want to dump out the side in front of rear wheels. anybody playing with cutouts either electric or manual?

Stock y pipe is the most restrictive part of the whole exhaust systems.
