So, long story short, my Hemi let a valve seat get loose and destroyed itself a few Saturdays ago. Here i sit a week and a half layer with a new remanufactured engine in my Ram.
The folks that replaced my engine recommended I keep out of higher RPM's ( gave no magic number to stay below) for 3000 miles, and to also not tow anything in those 3000 miles. They recommend changing the oil at 3000 miles as well. I've read from other places where on a new engine, folks recommend changing the oil fairly quick at like 500-1000 miles. Does anyone have any other tips on breaking it in right?
Also, the jokers put 10W-30 oil in the truck, in spite of the clear indication on the oil cap that it wants 5W-20. Is it OK to use that oil until i change it , or should i change it out for the right stuff asap?
