Recently had my 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 5.7 hemi rebuilt. Ran good for a week, now am smelling burning oil whenever engine is running. Found an oil leak where the passenger side exhaust tube attaches to the bottom of the engine. The oil pressure gauge is now moving up and down whenever the engine is running. Is this a gasket issue? An oil pump issue? Or something more serious?

Is the oil coming from the exhaust port of from the head or just under it? If its been only a week the shop that did the rebuild should warranty it. Are you losing any coolant? To me it sounds like a head gasket issue, they might have not trq'd down the heads in the right order or streached to yeild the bolts.

Welcome to RF. I also tend to agree that it sounds like something is awry with your head gaskets.
