Ordered new exhaust

I finally decided to start with the mods. Since the previous owner of my truck decided to put on a Sally muffler I decided to be different. I ordered a dynomax vt for my truck and will decide if I like it first before upgrading the rest of the exhaust including headers. I'll post a review if my findings here.

Definitely will post a clip. Muffler will be in tomorrow and in in Friday. My shop has been swamped so I have to wait for some free time to do it.

Muffler showed up today. It's going to be a good sounding muffler. Was surprised to see magna flow and flow master part numbers in the box

Ok so here's a little review of the new dynomax vt muffler. First a little back story. I have a 2003 dodge ram 2500 cc 4x4 hemi with 90000 miles on it. Bought it a month ago and got an awesome deal on it. When I got it it averaged about 10 miles to the gallon. When I was towing any thing it would average 6 miles to the gallon. The muffler that was on here was not a good choice it went from 3" to about 21/4" big restriction. So in the interest of science I cut the muffler out and added a 3 inch pipe. Gas mileage jumped to 13 miles per gallon no matter if I was towing or not. Awesome! But the sound was horrible lol. So the new muffler is in and sounds awesome and mileage was not affected.
I don't know how to upload a sound clip but trust me it is great. I tried to get my wife to stick her head out the window from the back seat with her iPhone but she wasn't having it

Update to this muffler. Well it sucks. Flap lasted less than a thousand miles and now every time I start it I hear it rattle. Going to order a new muffler after I decide what I want.

Sucks to hear! Are you leaning towards any particular muffler yet?

I don't know yet. Still thinking on it.
