Hi everyone. This is my first post here! I have a 2003 4.7L Ram 1500 SLT with 145,000 miles. My mechanic replaced the radiator about two years ago and I've recently noticed coolant around the base of the radiator cap on the reservoir. I replaced the cap and the coolant, albeit much less than before, is still appearing on the reservoir right below the cap. Additionally, there is a white film that looks like dried liquid on top of the cap. Could the leak be from the collar the cap screws into? I've attached pictures. On another issue, I don't think the mechanic changed the hoses when he changed the radiator. The hose from the radiator to the engine looks like a snake ate a rodent. It kinda looks like it's going to burst. Check out the attached pictures

Definitely change that hose right away. Then I would rent a pressure tester and see where the leak is coming from.

I was chasing down an issue with my overflow reservoir. I was getting leaks out of my cap, and out of the blow off hose (follow that hose directly under the cap, it would drip out the open end). I changed it with the most expensive one from Advanced Auto. Within a month, it happened again. I ordered an original Mopar one (like the picture below) and for 5 - 6 months I have had no more leaks.

Thanks for the advice. I'll change the hoses then rent a pressure tester to see where the leak is. I'll even buy an original MOPAR radiator cap if need be.

Check Amazon and other online retailers, I think I got my cap for <$25 shipped. It was slightly more at the dealer (+ tax), but may be worth it if you want it immediately.
