With the heads being milled it raises the compression. This means running 93 octane. 93 is every where here. That's not an issue. Just wondering if adding some octane booster like Torco or Klotz would be any benefit. Both are true octane boosters. And both are fuel stabilizers. Any info/opinions on this?

What's your static compression ratio and dynamic compression ratio supposed to be?

Static is 10.27-1 and Jay told me the dynamic but I don't remember

Uh, isn't the factory compression ratio 10.3:1?

That seems like a HUGE jump for just milling down the heads then. How much is coming off them?

Hm. What's your new combustion chamber volume?

Adding an octane booster wouldn't do much at that compression ratio, I found I had zero issues with mine at a 10.9CR with the Eagle head swap running 94. If you want to do more timing advance then it's a different story but you need the boosted just for the moderate compression increase.

This sort of seems like a stupid question but i was wonder why toluene is not used as an octane booster. It has an anti knock index of 114 and was used in the 80's by at least one f1 team. I understand that as a pure fuel it doesnt vaporize properly untill 70 celsius but mixed with pump gas that should lower the vap point enough to be useful?
Now i can see the potential problem, in order to bring the vap point down enough too much gas would have to be added so the octane boost would be minimal.
Second is availibility and purity, surely the gallon of toluene bought at home depot is not refined enough to be used as fuel.
I guess thats why everybody uses ethanol...

As far as I know yes. But this is above my knowledge.
