Can the pan be taken off an 04 4.7 ho without taking engine out? I wanted to replace rod and main bearings ( oil pump on front with chain ) if this sending unit i replaced today doesn't fix the failing oil pressure drop I have been witnessing on gauge this week. If I rev'd it above 1000 it would come back up.

Has anybody actually done it ? if so what did you learn.... thanks

is it 4 or 2wd? for 2wd the service manual says you have raise the engine a little to remove the pan, however when i was looking at it one time(I thought I needed to remove mine) it looked like you could just remove the rear cross member and disconnect the exhaust after the manifolds and you could maneuver it out.

for 4wd it says you have to remove the fornt axle and it can be removed
