So i bought a flashpaq from a guy on craigslist. (thought it was the 3865) shows up and its the 3815. Either way i install it and put in the 87 octane tune. Guys said they liked the performance gain and the mpg gain so i figured id give it a whirl. I really wanted the speedo adjustment.

So I installed it... is it just me or do these shift points suck? It wants to hold itself in first gear till around 20 mph when driving normally. even if I let off the gas it doesn't want to drop to 2nd.

it used to shift around 2k... now it wants to roll closer to 3k... how is that possibly more fuel efficient?

I have mine on the 93 tune too, did you change your shift points?

I changed mine and I love where they are.

Also, is that the only mod you have on the truck?

the only shift points I saw that I could adjust were the WOT between 1-2 2-3

Truck is lifted, 35's, K&N intake, Magnaflow Exhaust

I drive pretty slow out of my subdivision... under 20mph i used to be able to lift the gas a little and it would drop to 2nd and i could putt through the neighborhood. with this installed it holds first the whole time whether i lift or not.

Ahhh, yeah mine seems to do the same thing lol

You're right, we can only adjust the WOT with the 3815, haven't had that tuner out in a long time

Make sure the guy you bought it from didn't adjust the trans tuning (shift schedule). Mine in my 07 has a huge amount of transmission adjustments where I can change every shift up or down etc etc. I got the additional trans tuning when I bought the tuner. Paid extra for it. Was way to much trouble, so I went back to the superchips trans tuning and I don't even use it. I actually think mine is the 3865 though. Plus I run it on 91 tune

yea the 3815 does not have all those adjustments like yours does for part throttle shifting

If your lifted on 35's your gonna want to run 93 oct with the 93 tune. Also what gears are in the truck currently? That has alot to do with how the truck moves.

Im assuming the truck has the 3.92.

its a 2005 hemi 1500 big horn.
the truck performs just fine... im not banging her through the gears... just a daily driver and weekend hauler.

whats the advantage of the 93 oct tune and paying more for gas?
I'm not overly concerned with the mileage... just not going to stick premium in a guzzler for no reason..

my experience was that my truck gave me better milage with the 93 tune loaded on it and also ran alot smoother sure gas was a little more but nothing that broke the bank specially getting a little better milage then the 87

I had a 3815 before getting a 3865 an you being an 05 sell that thing an get a 3865. The trans tuning really wakes the truck up!

Mine gets better fuel economy on the hotter tune as well. I have tried them all, even the "mileage" tune and it regularly gets better mileage on the hot one. And MDS turned off too. I did have to pay like $40-50 more for the trans tuning capability on my tuner, too.

Is all the fuel savings you guys are talking about actually calculated? My overhead console tells me average MPG but I dont have much faith in what its reading.

Mine's weird too, I'll check it by hand and compare it to the console and sometimes it's right on other times it's off by a couple mpgs'.
