Superchips flashpaq question

I went to visit an old friend today. This was the first time he had seen my truck. When he did he went into his garage and came out with a 3815 and gave it to me. He had it from a truck he sold a couple years ago. On to the problem. When he sold his truck he never returned it to stock. The flashpaq is "lock to his old truck". Is there anything I can do with this or is it paperweight?

Sorry for being such a novice but how do I go about that? Is that something I can do with a USB cord online?

Exactly. Superchips has a software download that lets you select updates and features when you plug it in to your pc. Then you select the 100 unlock option and add to cart and pay. Applies immediately.

Related to this there is a 3815 for sale on CL near me in the Bay Area; the guy says he is using it on his 2007, but the 3865 is the part Superchips says fits my truck. Anybody know if this would work? Would it harm the computer, and could I update it to change MDS settings?

Yes it will work on your 07.

The 3815 works on the following:
2000-2008 Dodge Ram 5.7L Hemi
2000-2008 Dodge Ram/Dakota/Durango 4.7L
1998-2003 Dodge Ram/Dakota/Durango 5.9L
1998-2001 Dodge Ram 5.2L
1998-2002 Dodge Ram/Dakota/Durango 3.9L
1998-1999 Dodge Dakota/Durango 5.2L

The 3815 was discontinued and replaced with the 3865. The 3865 has more memory so it allows for other featurs like the advance trans tuning option.
