can i swap my 2004 ram 1500 4x4 5.7 engine and trans in to a 2004 ram 1500 4.7 my 5.7 truck is rusted bad but has very low miles on it but my 4.7 is in excellent shape but needs a motor how hard will it be for me to swap the motors and trans

In theory its not too hard, since you have both vehicles already. Just swap everything from the Hemi to the 4.7. Just got to remember to do all of the little things like motor mounts (not sure if Hemi mounts match 4.7, but I doubt it), computer, etc.

When you remove the 5.7 from your truck be very careful not to damage any wires or plug from your harnesses as you will need to swap them over to the new truck body.

As USAF2006 mentionned you may need to swap the engine mounts as well.

In addition to the motor mounts, check the transmission mount and cross member.

You'll want to swap the 5.7L PCM, harness, sensors, radiator, coolant tank, power accessories, etc... as well.

thanks everyone i think before i do the swap i mite do some work to the motor what can i do to the 5.7 motor that will give it more power and let it breath better but still be reliable .......i love the 5.7 but it would be nice to let those horses run
