I am it seems to trick the engine into thinking it's running cooler than it is. its a good cheap mod.

Not sure the only way I would know is if I was taking it to the track or towed something? which I don't at the moment.

I did notice on the gauge that it stayed cooler.

My truck does have good hp but at higher speeds--I need to get 4 56's and an electric fan.

I've been running a 180 stat for 4 years now. It is a great mod and the Hemi seems to like that temp, no heat soak and a bit peppier in the throttle.

A 180 t stat really comes into play if you are running headers and a CAI. It helps with the kr caused by the lean condition. It does not cause you to run in open loop.

I'm not sure you'd see any benefit on a basically stock truck.

I like the 180 and think I run cooler. My Heat sucked last winter though but added e-fan this spring so think that will not be an issue in winter anymore.

im running the 180 with ram air, modded iat and e-fan.. all seems to work great together... just need headers and my 4.56s......and a winch, and a body lift, and a new light bar, and 2 more 7" hid lights and this and that and .. well you get the picture

X2, I have mine for the lean condition/KR (Intake, Headers, Tune). I haven't had any problems with the 180* t-stat.

I'll agree with the others, I've been running one for a couple years now and the truck does run cooler, of course, and works well with the BM E-Fan and CAI.
