2007 Ram 1500 5.7L - What size is the throttle body on these motors? I am thinking about going to an 85mm throttle body for improved throttle response. Anyone tried this upgrade yet? If so, what are your comments?

Don't bother until you do other modifications. The stock TB is plenty big, you won't really gain anything, despite what everyone's butt dyno here is going to tell you...

The stock throttle body is 80mm. Do you plan to add any other performance mods in the future?

While we have seen consistent gains with our throttle body on the street and the track, you would be better off starting with a Superchips tuner before adding the TB. Tuning is not required to run the ported throttle body, but you will gain more for the money from the tuner than you will a throttle body.

If you plan to add longtubes, a bigger cam, or boost, then I would go with 1 of the Diablo tuners with custom tuning instead of the Superchips.

I'm assuming most of the butt dyno comes from disconnecting your batter for a while during the TB install process, thus resetting the computer. Always works for a few good days until it relearns your pedal style.

I have hundreds of customers that have seen gains of about .1 and 1mph in the 1/4 mile with this unit, so it is adding power as well. The tapered port from 85mm (or 87mm) back down to 83mm on the back side creates an increase in airspeed and is what gives the gains in throttle response. The gains are there whether the computer is reset or not.
