I have searched but still havn't figured it out. What do you use to clean it? I have read carb cleaner and brake cleaner. Some say don't use carb cleaner. Isn't carb and brake cleaner basically the same stuff? Also read to use Sea Foam Deep Creep. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Did I miss a DIY on this?

Brake cleaner is best. Just soak it down (be careful not to hit the electronics on the butterfly valve). Most should fall off with just spraying it. You can use your wife's toothbrush to get the rest out, or just wipe it out

Ditto, service manual specifically states "do not use Carb cleaner" as it may damage the electronics.

I was wondering about this myself. Can the electronics be removed for cleaning?

theres no reason to remove the electronics. Brake cleaner wont hurt them as long as its not sprayed directly onto them. Removing electronics would be a big waste of time

It's done. Pretty easy job. Maybe I will gain a few mpg's now. Throttle response seems better and seems to have woke up a few more ponies.

Brake cleaner is what the hubby always used. Never cleaned mine yet. Might have to try it out. Truck's got almost 40k, tb is probably dirty.
