tranny maintence, suggestions

tomorrow im doing a filter change and fluid change on the tranny, wondering if I can adjust the bands at all.

also wondering if If the additives lucas makes are any good.

We don't have bands. Just change the filter and fluids and call it a success.

And don't use any additives. ATF+4 has all the additives you need.

Also make sure you get the right filters, there are two of them in there a round one and a flat one, the flat one though comes in two different sizes depending on if you are 2wd or 4wd (4wd being larger I believe) so make sure you get the right ones.

Also might look into installing a drain plug in the pan while you are at it, it makes a mess if you are not carefull breaking the seal on the pan,

The only thing I ever add to my ATF+4 is 4 ounces of the same friction modifier you use in limited slip differentials. This will help keep the clutch material from hardening and prevent harsh shifting.
