So at 97,330 miles my stock trans took a ****. Had one rebuilt from a friend, an well long story short about 6,400 miles later trans #2 took a **** as well. I had a circle-d 3200 converter that I think played into the trans problem, but the failure is 100% my fault. It happened a couple weeks ago an was so disgusted I didn't want to to **** with the paperweight sitting in my driveway besides maybe trade it in. Well gave myself a few days too cool off an am deciding to fix it but this time I'm doing a junkyard trans an. So thanks to the donor a 2004 1500 4.7 w/ 72k miles I picked up for $350 so Im hoping I can have a truck again within the next couple days

That can do it too, apparently it only uses 70% of line pressure in 4th gear. I keep a spare stocker in my garage just in case my L&M ever goes. I'm both confident in Mike's build and paranoid about the crappy 545. I know it can be frustrating when things break on you and you're left with what I called a 'pile of flammable crap' after you've put time and money into it; I felt the same way after I set my truck on fire on the dyno, limped it home and left it to sit for a full week before I was even willing to touch it so I could calm down.

Yea that's the plan with the trans in my truck now is to have it pulled an inspected an rebuilt hopefully then have it ready to go. Tho if I loose another one its either gonna sit for a while or getting traded in.

I think the circle-d was problematic an was assisting with my trans problems. I put the converter I got with this newer trans(out of a 4.7 truck) in when I swapped it. I may send it to get cut an cleaned one day, but I've really lost interest doing anymore performance mods to my truck.

Truck just never daily drove right after trans #2 went in but I've read about converters flashing over 3k being a problem in the 3G trucks.

Feel like I'm growing up lol, I used to care about it being fast an **** an always fixing/ working on it.. Now I just want to put about 20k miles on it before having a to fix something for God sakes the truck only has 103k miles

Something similar happened to me, mine went around 105,000, I got a used low mileage on a performance rebuild from a forum member (figured if it was built for his truck I should be good). Made it about 30,000 miles and it took a ****. Did the same thing, junkyard trans with about 20,000 miles on it. Haven't had a problem since, even with the Circle D 2800 in it.

IF I send it off ill get it re stalled to 2600-2800 an let it ride.
My stock trans made it to 97,3xx this one made made it 6,4xx. But after getting a quick learn yesterday an putting about 30 miles on it she seems to be driving good. I think I need to take so fluid out tho it reads about 1.5" past the hot part.

Drain it quick to get the fluid level correct. Also with the deep pan use the 4x4 flat filter. It has a longer pickup tube than the 2wd filter.

Blowing transmissions is part of the fun in these trucks;), on number 4 or 5 now, hell I lost count. Found a good junk yard, 350.00 transmissions, a shop that charges 225 to install it and bam! Back on the road lol. Gotta love modding a ram

Already used a 4x4 filter when install.

Until I had both out next to each other I thought I had two of the same parts.
