I think my truck may have a vacuum leak... Seems like when I have to mash the brake pedal really fast, the truck wants to die. It'll idle down to 500rpm and then kill itself. It started doin it yesterday.

Does it sound like that's what it could be? Or do yall think it may be somethin else? It isn't throwin a code either... :Frustrated:

No I don't hear a whistle... I hear my truck idling real quietly and then when you punch the brakes it just idles down real fast and chokes itself out...

Could be bad gas, blocked fule filter, clogged injector. Not throwing a code its hard to pinpoint what's goin on. It only does it when you go to stop? How does it idle in park?

Strange! I suggest to Check the lines off the brake booster. Off hand there is one that goes to the back right side of the intake behind the Hat and could have poped off! If loose just cut the hose back a half inch and re-install. Thats what i would check first.

It idles good in park, right around 7-800 or so... I had it in neutral yesterday when it happened the 1st time, was just messin with the brakes to see if it was my back brakes that were makin noise. Was just rollin down the driveway and hittin the brakes and then I noticed that it wasn't runnin anymore lol. I was like WTF ....

This mornin I had to hit the brakes hard to stop quick at a red light and it acted like it wanted to do it again and was idling around 500 again. I'm gonna go see if it does it again

It had a moment lol. Mines does it every once in a while when im backing up and go to stop. Hell it might have sloshed the gas around to were it wasn't getting fuel for a second. Dunno if they will do that or not, just another thought.

Yep...Weird...It wouldn't hurt to reset the Throttle body positioning sensor if your idle doesn't like quick stops!

Yep..Weird! To reset, the method that works for me (found on forums) is to turn the key to on position, wait for all the chiming and flashing to stop, then slowly push pedal to floor and hold (for the count of approx. 10 seconds), then slowly bring the pedal back up to normal position, turn key off and the pedal should be reset.

Also check that you have no kink in the breather line from the oil to the air filter .

Or the speed/abs sensor in your left front wheel is going out. If your brakes are neededing replaced it might be getting over heated or something along those lines

Yeah I just did my front brakes a few months ago but my back ones looked good so I didn't do those just yet but now they're makin noise... it was like RIGHT after I filled up when it happened. I don't think it's bad gas b/c it aint doin it anymore... not sure what it could be honestly since it didnt throw a code... just odd...

Did it not show a code via CEL or did you go through and check using either the sc or key cycle? There's a chance it tripped a code without flashing the CEL.
