I finally got my Vararam today and I'm running into some problems. My overflow is in the way of the Vararam and doesn't sit flat. Also where I have it mounted I can't close my hood.

Has anybody else had these issues installing there's? My truck is a 2003 1500.
Thanks Colton
On the instructions they should it with a different overflow. this is a picture of my truck

your overflow looks like it's too high/beefy. is it an aftermarket overflow?

also check to make sure it is pushed far back and the mount I'd lined up on the alt I believe.

mine out up a hell of a fit while trying to install it. nothing lined up right, tubes needed to be routed a lot differently than they say to avoid the fan. overall fit and finish were crap..... but it works. times dropped considerably with it installed vs my old one.

I would contact Vararam. They have great customer service; and I am sure if you sent them the pics that they would be able to answer your questions.

Something aint right.

First, are you sure you have the right model for your genreration of RAM?
Second, Who / Where did you buy it and have you called the vendor?

Third, either way as recommedned ^^ call Vararam.

Thanks for the all the replies!

The overflow is the one that came with my truck when I bought it 2 years ago.
It's pushed as far back as it can go. This might sound dumb but could I cut down the sleeve that connets the Vararam to the throttle body? Or is that a bad idea? lol

I tried calling Vararam last night at about 7pm and it said their inbox was full and to call again later, so I'm going to try and call them back today.

Yes, the one I bought was for 2002-2007 model dodge rams with a 5.7.
I bought it from a vendor on Ebay (that's probably my first problem:pp:)

You are going to either need the newer model coolant tank like pictured in their instructions, or you will need to relocate your current tank to make it fit. Only the 03 models had that style of coolant reservoir, and it will not work with the Vararam kit.

What he said ^^ that's why I went with the s&b intake instead of vararam. As much as I love vararam.

(I also have an 03.)

You could also get a cool custom overflow tank. Like a tig welded aluminum one. It looks like the tank is at an awkward angle. But good work.

A new overflow would be pretty cool... don't get me started haha. The overflow is a super awkward angle right now, I'm going to fix that tomorrow :waytogo:

Great job! Looks great, and I'm glad you were able to overcome the trucks design to work for you!

Thanks man I appreciate it!
