So my 3rd water pump gasket in about 4 years is starting to leak a little again. i know little coolant leaks are common on these babies but dang, im wondering if anybody has found a better gasket that lasts longer then OEM? Ive always used original MOPAR gaskets but dont really wanna replace again knowing about next december ill need a new one lol. Anyone? or am i alone on this issue?

I just replaced mine when I rebuilt my engine. It wasn't leaking, just need replaced as we went along. I noticed there was a lot of corrosion buildup in the groove, it took a lot of scraping to make sure I had a good clean surface for the gasket. Then I used some gasket sealer on the install.

Ive had bad luck i guess. i replaced original gasket right around 36k miles, then replaced pump and gasket just around 63k, now i have a gasket leak again at 72k. its a very slight leak, but still a leak that i gotta fix AGAIN. Driving me nuts as to why it keeps on leaking. when i replace it ill look closely for any corrosion or deposits and make sure the grooves are brand new clean, hope this will be my last WP gasket change for at least a few years lol. i suppose ill go with the MOPAR gasket again, 3rd times a charm right? :boxed:
