2010 Ram starting issue

Hello all, I have a 2010 Ram Laramie with factory remote start. Problem: truck starts by itself. Yes, I get out of the truck, close the door, the truck locks itself and starts up. Sometimes it runs for 15 seconds, sometimes for minutes. Sometimes the truck lowers the windows. There is no pattern to this. Sometimes no issues for days. Any ideas?

How many fobs do you have? Being the fob is 7 years old it sounds like buttons are sticking inside the remote. Try and take the fob apart and put a new battery in. If you recently did a new battery maybe the case isnt seated correctly.

One of my remotes would lower my windows if I was barley touching the remote, or if it was in my pocket against my leg. Switched to my other remote and no issues at all. Sounds like your remote has gone bad. Mine was so sensitive I watched my windows go down with the remote in my pocket. Heck one day I came out of a restaurant with the family and my Windows were all the way down!

Truck starts by itself

My 2010 Ram 1500: I park the truck, get out and close the door. The truck locks the doors and starts up by itself. It sometimes runs 15 seconds and sometimes a couple of minutes and shuts off. It does this randomly and not all the time. Their is no pattern to it. Sometimes the lights flash and the headlights come on then shut off. I think it's haunted. Any ideas as to what it might be?

Maybe it had a remote start at one time? Sure sounds like the actions of a remote start -doors lock and car starts. Possibly take to an alarm shop and have them look for a remote start/alarm unit still installed

I have a recently purchased 2016 Ram 1500 with a remote start. I was woken up the other night by the truck's horn beeping and the truck starting. The fob was in my pants pocket while I was asleep. I would like to disable this feature since I keep the truck in an attached garage.
