I noticed that sometimes my truck doesn't turn on when I put the fobik in. The remote start and lock options on the fob but when I turn the key to the on position, nothing happens. I found that if I wiggle the fob when turning over the truck, it starts right up.

I have an old fob I primarily use and a new one that I use as a spare. It does the same thing with both of them. Is this a socket issue? WCM? Wiggling the fob doesn't bother me but it makes me wonder if one day the wiggling won't work and I'm stranded somewhere.

ignition going bad? Sounds like a bad connection. They truck senses the fob over rfid, the physical switch itself might be screwy.

Hey guys,

It's been a year and it still has the same issue. If I remote start it and put the fob in, I have no problems at all. The issue is that every once in a while I insert the key to turn it on without a remote start, I have to wiggle it to a certain spot so it turns on. It's slowly becoming harder to do.

I had it shut off a few times while driving and figured it was because my wallet was attached to my fob. Now I insert the fob with nothing on it and it hasn't turned off for me since.

Can I just put in a new ignition cable? Do I have to put in a whole new switch? If so, can I upgrade it to a push start?

Indeed WIN module. Bypass the dealer, save your $$, get it resolved. Check out this thread and link to supplier.

I talked to the dealer about it and it was $450 to put in a new WIN and update all my keys. Ended up being cheaper than the supplier so I stayed with the dealer. The dealer did charge a $40 disposal fee for the old win though.... so it was about $100 cheaper than doing it myself anyway.

I think part of the reason why I started getting this issue was because my wallet was attached to my fob. The weight must've taken a toll on the win module over time. I remember it shutting down a few times while I was driving so I started unhooking my wallet so it didn't weigh down on the fob. I'll probably keep doing that so I don't get issues ever again.
