2012 Instrument Cluster w/o info. center

I have a 2012 1500 Express 4x4 with an instrument cluster without the information center (basic cluster). I keep reading where people with '13+ 1500 have been upgrading their clusters. My question is can I upgrade my basic cluster to a cluster with the information center if I find one from a '12? Will it be plug and play or does the dealer need to reprogram anything? Will everything work correctly? Seems like a pretty easy upgrade if it fits without modifying anything. Thanks.

Here is what I have and what I want to upgrade to. Just a pic I found. Mine has 38,300 miles.

Yeah sucks for the pre 13 trucks that you can only "upgrade" to that. But yes, plug and play.

Yeah better than what I have now I guess. Thanks for the info.

What all does this one show as far as information goes? It's got to be much better than the basic one.

I have 38,3.. miles on mine and there is one on eBay with 39,709 miles for $148. If it's worth it I may just get it.

Not much. Fuel MPG and tire pressures. Basic "vehicle stats" oil pressure oil temp etc. just going off memory here from my 2012 . If you have Nav it will also show up with the turn arrows and distance. It's nothing that impressive but not a bad thing to do if you can get one for cheap. Mileage corrections can be done for tvandnavtogo out of NY. Guys name is Dominic

EDIT. Just saw how close your miles are so you could just wait until yours catches up and swap it right in.

Yeah, even the upgraded cluster is pretty bare bones unfortunately compared to the 13+. A US Speedo overlay will spruce it up a bit thought, imo. They have a few different colors.
