2015 ram usb in center console

Hi everyone I have two usb plugs in my center console and from what I can tell it looks like one is to play music through the radio with and the other is strictly a charging one. Well my problem is with the charging one if I turn the truck off next time I get in and plug my phone in ill have to disconnect the cable and connect it again since it wont charge till I do that, but the other plug that plays through the radio will charge my phone without having to unplug and replug the cable. This usually isn't a problem till someone else is riding with me and tries to plug in the phone and you have to go through the whole process of taking the cable off and putting it back on. Is this normal or is there something wrong with my truck?

it is an iphone ill try it with a different phone today and see if that makes a difference

the one that has a cover on it the other one is exposed with no cover

Same issue with mine. It drives me crazy. Im using an iphone 5. Cant wait for a solution to this

This seemed to resolve itself on mine with the current UConnect software (14.25.5 I believe).

Still not working

I am having the same problem on my 2015 Ram 1500. I updated to the latest software 15.17.5. Has there been any other solutions to this?

Have the same annoying thing with my 2015 (updated firmware Friday). Have to unplug the USB from the port before it will charge my iPhone 6.

I.dont have to unplug , but after a minute or so with the ignition off ./ fob removed mine stops charging Bob back in and on account it starts charging again ( no unplug / reply required . I have the Samsung Galaxy S -5 , and a 2014 1500

Bump this thread, and I'm going in for some flash updates on the 18th, I'll ask about this - as I'm having the same experience on my 2014. My local service manager is pretty good, so hopefully I will at least be an explanation to report.

mine does the same thing. originally had a Samsung Note 3 and it worked fine for almost a year then suddenly i'd have to unplug the cable. still does it with my iphone 6 too and a few other phones other people have plugged in

I'm almost positive this is a design feature to stop accessories from draining the battery. My 2014 and my father in laws 2012 both do this.
