Hi

Well when I got my 2017 Ram I was supposed to have had a Back up Camera with the truck. The dealer gave me the jerk around. So what I would like to know is how hard is it to have it to work?
If I get the rear Handle with the Camera, can I just plug n play and that's if the connector is there...

Thanks

What radio do you have first off and I think it will need to be flashed to have the radio work

There's a bit that has to be enabled in the BCM. If the sales code is already on your VIN, then it might just plug in and work. You'll need to have a 5.0 or 8.4 radio, or the mirror with picture.

I'm going to do this on my 17 at some point. There is a big thread on it in the stickies I believe. I got quoted at a few shops and both were like 500 so I'm going to buy the mopar kit and do myself

unlikely that the sales code is there, if you have the sales code enabled then the radio will switch to a blue screen every time you put it in reverse since it will have no camera feed

The Mopar kit is $250 - $275 depending where you purchase .
It is Not plug n play , but it's a pretty easy kit to install .
Takes 3-6 hours depending on your level of DIY status ....2ea soldered wires and one connector to depin & repin for the tailgate lock other than that it's plug n play .
You will need your dealer to flash in sales code XAC .

I'd say it's a 4 out of 10 on difficulty imo.

For a radio display it requires the RA2 5.0" touchscreen or the RA3 -RA4 8.4" Touchscreen radio .

Hope this helps !
