Ok I need help. I purchased a Pioneer AVH-X3800BHS and bought the install kit that Crutchfield says was the correct fit.

I'm not receiving any power to the head unit and I noticed after making my connections that the red hot wire is going only to a plug that is not being used making be believe that the harness is not the correct one.

The harness kit I ordered was the Metra 95-6518B. There is one plug that goes to no where and it is where the hot is going to. Do I have the incorrect harness?

Update. The harness kit number is Metra XSVI-6523-NAV XSVI Interface Dodge 13-UP. This harness just does not seem right for the 2017.

Update 2: After talking to Ryan at Crutchfield, they are telling me that the correct harness is Axxess LC-CHRC-01. So anyone that may run in to the same issue... there you go.

Sucks to hear you have to wait for a new harness. Good thing is crutchfield is normally good for overnighting things like this. I just installed a 4200-nex and was gonna use the axxess harness too but ultimately decided to go with the maestro unit.

I'm assuming that both these metra harnesses come with a module to interconnect the wiring. This would be where you get your red "ACC" wire from. Our trucks don't have a dedicated switched 12V on the main harness. It gets pulled from the data BUS.

The 6523 is correct. The plug that is not being used should go to module box that should have been included with the harness.

The module box had its own connector but there was a third connector as well that had no where to go. The yellow wire in the Metra harness was going to the hot on the OEM harness.

Got the LC-CHRC-01 harness with black module but it doesn't work right on my 2018. Replaced the 3.0 radio with an ATOTO head unit and this kit. When I plug in the black box with the key on ignition, the radio comes on, but when I only turn the key while the black box is connected, the radio won't come on.
I hate it when stuff like this doesn't work right.

Did the LC-CHRC-01 kit work for you?

I have a 2017 Ram 1500 with the small 5" Uconnect radio. I had the same problem with my Pioneer install. I purchased from Buy Best, and they are doing the install. They originally ordered and installed the Metra XSVI-6523-NAV harness. It wouldn't power-up. They did some checking and told me they needed to use LC-CHRC-01 kit instead. I'm scheduled to have them finish the install this evening. I'll know later today if the LC-CHRC-01 kit is going to do the trick.

I'm not sure it matters, but my Pioneer unit is model AVH-2330NEX

They swapped my wiring harness this evening. The LC-CHRC-01 kit works with my Pioneer radio in my 2017 Ram 1500 (originally had the 5" Uconnect.

However the factory USB (in the console) isn't working properly. I have the iDatalink - URAM Media Hub circuit board to USB adapter, but the connection keeps dropping. I might need to use the Pioneer dongle (ugh).
