2018 uconnect 8.4?

Ok, so I have a 2017 Power Wagon that I swapped for my 2015 1500 CC. The new truck has the uconnect 8.4 without the navigation. I’m have seen the new systems on the 2018 and would like to know if it is possible to change to that unit (would like to have android auto)? If so what’s the cost on those units? If not where is a good place to purchase the unlock code for the navigation on my current system at a reasonable price? Thanks...

Is it possible...yep. But it’s not a direct swap out. The media hub has to be replaced and it looks like the 2018 RAM radio will have a different SDARS connector on it. The biggest problem is that the radios are impossible to find used at this point and are backordered forever for a new one. I have had a 2018 RAM radio on order for several months for a low low price of $1300 and I’m still waiting for it. This time next year, I think it will be easier to do as the radios should be a little more available.

I was able to piece together two different 2018 radios to make one that works in my 2016 2500. I had to replace the media hub and build a custom harness.

Here’s a thread with more info. Infotainment was selling a kit for $1800 but last I check they were sold out.

deere guy what media hub did you use a challenger with a sd slot?why i ask is not what you would think.i am simply adding a cd jump seat to my express but i bought what appears to be a 2018 one.anyway it didn't come with wiring or a media hub.no biggie harness is on its way and i can use the top half of my old seat.but the hole for the media hub in the new seat is of course total different and the non sd slot ones for the rams you cant get yet.i'll post pics of the new seat hub slot.do you have pics of your hub install?

I used a dual usb one from a 300. Here’s the part number. Do you have a part number for that jump seat part? I have my hub under the seat right now with the usb cable running up between the seat.

I don’t know if this hub will work with the harman 8.4s though.
