I am looking to get some Rockford Fosgate 6 3/4 midrange speakers for my doors. 2016 Ram Bighorn, non Alpine. Has anyone on here installed any speakers that size in the doors? How much modification was required? Thanks for the help.

I've installed 7" midbass speakers and 8" midbass speakers in the Ram door. Diameter is not the biggest deal, depth is. A simple 6x9 adapter plate with a 6 3/4" hole will work just fine. You can make the plate 1/4", or 1/2" to add a bit of depth clearance for the new speaker

About how much space is there between the front of your speakers to the factory speaker grill? How much would I have to work with I suppose is the real question?

Well my esotar 650 have a linear excursion rate of 9mm and the surrounds do not touch the factory speaker grill at full extension....so I would say 10mm+ and that is with a 1/2" adapter plate
