8.4 Upgrade Question

So, I purchased a center console out of a 2016 with a built in OEM CD player. I want to upgrade from the 5.0 to the 8.4 radio.
The question is, if I do the upgrade, will the CD player automagically work, or is their a specific 8.4 radio, or a flash that needs to be done for the CD player to work?

There is a sales code for the cd player that will have to be added

My truck was an original RA1 truck with the CD player under the center seat console , the CD player worked when I upgraded to the RA2 and it also works automatically when I upgraded to the RA4 8.4NA.

Post some pics of what that CD player looks like and where it is. I have never seen this unicorn.
