911 Vehicle Phone - error

Anyone know how to fix this issue without tracking all the way back to dealer? This message is displayed every time i start my truck ('13 Ram)...
I think I read somewhere that this indicates it is still in transport mode, but i have no idea how to get it out of that mode. Thanks! e6u4enyn.jpg

Had the same error message on mine. Found out it is a growing problem with the new touch screens. Besides the message you are seeing, look for other tell-tale signs. Does your compass show "N" most of the time and also look at your "apps" soft key, it should show 3G. If either of these exist, the radio has to be replaced.

No to N on compass and no on "apps".. Cant get into apps anyway- it is not able to connect to register- just searches

happened to me a lot until I accomplished the reset. After the reset to factory setting. I have had no issues with the 8.4AN with the exception of loosing my presets a couple times.

Yours is acting exactly like mine did before everything went out. It would never show the 911 error when I took it to the dealership, but it would if I was alone. Are you getting the red light in the mirror yet? Watch for these, took mine about a month to start really freaking out, especially the screen that stated "Application not available when vehicle in motion", this would show up when in Park. Hope that a reset goes better for you, dealer tried doing it to mine and it didn't change anything. So they ordered new.

technically the dealer has to do it, But I called up tech support. Acted professional and used all the correct lingo.They must have thought I was the dealer. After they walked me through the process they asked me for my dealership number.

Then I told them I am the owner, and thanked them for their help... LOL

Thanks guys... I'll go dealer route- no doubt I'd screw up the restore if I did it on my own..

Tried the re-set... Unfortunately, still getting the same error message and I just see the big U in background- not RAM logo.. Guess time to get it serviced

when your doing the reset make sure you are in an area that will allow an update if needed. Let us know what the dealer says...

Did get it to pair... But different background, temp shows 96 degrees, same phone error message and no register for uconnect... We'll see what dealer says...

Has anyone since the post in 2013 had the vehicle phone needs service message? I took my 2015 Ram 1500 in to dealer for warranty fix on it. They ordered a cell antenna and replaced it and said it was fixed. But as soon as I started it to leave the message popped up again. I drove right back into the service dept. and showed it to the service advisor. Now I am waiting for them to have a talk with the service tech and research it. The code said it was a cell antenna short to ground. Do you think anyone checks their work anymore?

Mine is doing the 911 phone message, it's also not keeping time, and the worst is that I just dumped $500 plus tax on the GPS upgrade and it can not find satellites. I am going to call the Chrysler Nav phone number Monday and tell them that I am going to put the CC charge in dispute as I did not get a working GPS.

I am taking it to my dealer on Monday with no expectations that they will be able to fix it. This will also be a PITA as they needed a week's notice for an appointment and when their "fixes" dont really work it will be lots of back and forth.

I can disconnect the battery to reboot the vehicle but that only works for a couple of days.

The only positive is that I do have MAXCare so it will only be a $100 deductible. Personally I dont care about the 911 issue and would not take it in if the GPS was working.

Plus I got in on the tail end of a lifetime Sirius subscription and if they want to change out the radio that will be another bunch of BS to go thru.

Took it in and after sending the error logs to FCA the diagnosis is to replace the radio. Estimate is 2 plus weeks to get a new one.

I will find out if the navigation I just purchased will transfer over and if Sirius will transfer my lifetime subscription to the new radio.

So time will answer all.

Couple questions :

1) are you the original owner of this truck ?

2) is this radio an original factory install ?

3) what type of antenna do you have on top of the cab area . Is it a shark fin or a flat puck style ?
