I've got a '13 express that came with the keyless entry fob. I'm wanting to add remote start to the truck, but I don't want another key fob on my key ring. Does anyone know if I can add remote start and have it programmed to the factory key fob? I asked my service manager and he said I would have to go aftermarket....

I think there are aftermarket options that allow you to use the oem fob. You just hit the lock button like three times and the truck starts. Search around on here and you should find a thread about it.

Thanks for the responses guys. So I take it there wouldn't be any added buttons to my fob...I've got the room for it if needed. Only have lock, unlock and panic on the fob.

No extra buttons if set up to use the 3X lock to start. The unit in the link posted above works that way.

that module posted above is only one that will still do it. DEI has removed the 3x lock function from the DBALL module now. they require you to use their rf remotes or a smart start module when paired with just a DBALL

Does anyone know if adding the OEM remote start will add the start feature to the uconnect access app?

i dont believe so.

flashlogic (idatalink) also makes a 3x lock to remote start unit also similar to the link posted above.

That's about right when you factor in the price of the part and a couple hours labor to install and program. Most dealers are a little over 100 an hour. That's why a lot of people buy the part online, install and then pay the dealer to just program.
