Adding a speaker mid dash position with the 6 speaker 8.4 oem stereo?

I have 2014 ram 1500 with the 6 speaker system but want to add a third dash speaker. Not sure if I could add it or did I need the alpine stereo system to do it?

why? Most dont like it and end up disconnecting it to get better left/right sound definition with their sound systems.
