I recently added two 12" subs and a Kicker 600.1 amp to my 2016 Laramie with the 8.4 and the Alpine system. It sounds pretty good! The thing I don't like is that I have to constantly adjust the external bass control when I change the volume. I'm getting a signal from the factory sub wiring fed into an AudioControl LC2i

In my 2015 Challenger I had, I had the same system. 8.4 Alpine. In that car I had two 12's powered by the same Kicker amp fed by the same LC2i. The difference is that in that car, I got the signal from tapping into the rear speakers. I really think that sounded better

So here's my question for those in the know; Where is the best place to tap into the rear speakers in a 2016 Laramie?

when you grabbed your signal at the sub did you use all 4 wires or only 2?

if 4 are you sure one is not out of phase? or are your subs from your amp out of phase?

Something is wrong. The factory sub is dependent of the volume control, as such your LOC should be as well.

Whats the input vaiarable on the LCI? The subwoofer signal might be too high for it, a better source would be a door speaker, if they arent crossed over based on the Alpine system.

It's wired correctly. I used all four wires, and no, it's not wired out of phase. The bass volume changes with the rest of the speakers, the intensity does not and that's why I want to change it. I had the exact same issue in the Challenger which went away by tapping into the rear speakers. So again I ask where is the best place to tap into the rear speakers? I don't want to mess with running wire through the doors and the grommets

Best place? At the Alpine amp. Easiest? If you only grab one side, at the B-pillar.

I assume if I want to grab both sides, both B-pillars? Thanks

Yeah - but I would just grab it at the Alpine and you only need to take apart on side of the car, and you don't need to hunt through a bundle of wires.
