So I just got my 14' Ram and it has the factory top of the line option Alpine system with the factory sub (hopefully I'm correct there, if not sorry). I have the factory upgrade Kicker speakers+tweeters from my 2012. Are the speakers of the same quality or is one better than the other? Curious if somebody else has done the hassle of swapping them to hear the difference.

You need to check the impedance of the Kickers you have. I believe the Alpine system uses 2 Ohm drivers.

I replaced mine with the Infinity Reference speakers that are 4 OHM drivers
. I lost a little volume, however now I can turn it up louder with out distortion so I ended up with a louder over all system with greatly improved clarity. I can only assume any aftermarket speakers will be an improvement over the factory speakers

Can I just check the ohms across the speaker to see what they are? I'm just curious about what speakers are better. The system itself is pretty awesome and if the speakers are close to each other I'll just sell my Kicker speakers.

They will be a direct fit and sound much better no matter the ohms.

I'd put them in. The Kickers are an upgrade over the base or Alpine speakers.

Well the sound quality didn't go down which is good lol but these Kicker speakers have enough bass that they kinda cover up the subwoofer base too. Overall I still it's an improvement with the whole system.

Do you have a link for the kicker speakers?

Also, does anyone have a recommendation to upgrade the Alpine sub? I just got the truck and to me, it seems pretty weak.

A few questions that will help us answer you.

Are you looking to use the factory enclosure?
Do you want to swap it for an external amp and a real sub?
How much bass are you looking for?

not necessarily.....

the kickers are for the NON alpine systems. They are good upgrades for the non-alpine systems, but they sound level and volume will go down if used on the alpine system

The alpine system uses 2 ohm speakers and the kicker speakers are 4. the sound quality MAY be slightly better, but the overall volume will be decreased when using 4 ohm speakers on 2 ohm systems.

To the OP, go out and find quality 2 ohm front dash 3.5" speakers and quality 2 ohm rear 6x9 speakers and you will have a healithy upgrade to the alpine sytem.

see here, this is what i did, for $300 or so, it was a nice upgrade to the alpine system
